You receive both on-site training and field support.
Your trainers will have either owned and operated or managed an Other Mothers store. You won't be trained by people that have no firsthand experience operating a store.
You'll be trained in a business system that works. The business system used to start and operate Other Mothers family owned stores will be given to you through training, our extensive procedures manual, and our ongoing support. We'll give you the information you need to help you select a site for your store and help you negotiate a lease.
We help you locate vendors that sell you the merchandise, supplies, insurance, fixtures, and equipment that you need to open your store at a reasonable cost. You may not believe how much money and time this will save you.
We help you set up your store with our "kid-friendly" design and layout. The first time you open your doors for business, we're there with you.
We help you with your advertising and marketing.
Through both email and our newsletter we share with you successful business techniques used by other owners of Other Mothers' stores. We also share with you our ongoing marketing research that combines customers surveys with employee and store owner input.
You benefit from our growing reputation for clean, bright, and well organized stores with a great selection of good quality merchandise.
We provide you with an extensive price list for buying and selling merchandise along with a list of recalled baby furniture items.
We'll help you make your store competitive with other children's stores in your area without your having to learn everything the hard way.

Because of our low overhead, we keep your franchise cost down. Our present franchise fee is $15,000 ($10,000 for a second and subsequent stores). Our present royalty fee is 3% of your monthly gross sales to $50,000 per month. On monthly gross sales of $50,000 and above your royalty drops to 2%. Total pre-opening investment ranges from about $75,000 for our standard- size store (about 2,500 sq. ft) to about $95,000 for a large store (about 5,000 sq. ft) with a women's section. These figures include the franchise fee, equipment, counters, signage, fixtures, leasehold improvements, opening inventory and supplies, training expenses, and a three month operating buffer. Many franchise owners obtain financing for their business by arranging a loan from their local bank.
